WHY VOLUNTEER?
 Sometimes we do not need a reason to do something good for someone else, imagine how you will feel helping those in need. It is also a great way to meet new people and connect to those you may not have the opportunity to meet in your normal life. Whether you volunteer once or on a regular basis,  it will have a positive and humbling impact in your life, but a lifelong effect on the people you help. 

Here are some of the volunteer opportunities we currently have:

• Packing food bags and helping to stock and organize the food bank
• Food distribution- helping to pass out food or helping with registration and check in process
• Helping with the mobile laundry shower trailer
• Assisting the warehouse with the day to day activities
• Case management
• Driving our 26' foot box truck to distributions or driving our mobile laundry shower trailer and setup/ break down to its various locations
• Data entry/ Front desk help
• SNAP (food stamp) application assistance
• Helping with special projects

Our warehouse is open from 8am-3:30pm Monday- Friday. They do close for lunch from 12:30pm-1:30pm. Please text CCSWLA to 84576, to be added to our text messaging system which will give you more access to volunteer updates and needs.  

Please see the required waivers below. You may print, sign, and email back to us prior to the date of activity or bring with you on the day of activity. You may email forms to volunteer@catholiccharitiesswla.org. 

Please note, all persons under the age of 18 must have a liability waiver signed for each day of activity they volunteer. It must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. If filling out the forms ahead of activity, please make sure the date of activity is reflective of the ACTUAL date of activity and not the date the form is being signed. Any person who does not have a signed waiver will not be able to participate in the volunteer activity.
